My cell set up a table where the Dalhousie Student Union held and passed the historic vote to join the province wide student strike in Nova Scotia. We talked to essentially every student who attended prior to the meeting starting. Nobody needed to be convinced that a strike was necessary to fight the cuts to public education. We simply patiently explained to those that had doubts or questions on how the strike could win. We talked to a law student who was quite skeptical of us at first. To be honest, at first I thought we didn’t reach him. But sure enough, he was one of the first speakers prior to the vote being taken. He began his speech with, “I have to admit, I agree with the communists.”
